CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The owners of Natural Wellness in Cheyenne opened up the store recently. They are hoping Cheyenne residents will experience the benefits of CBD oils that are derived from hemp plants.
David and Rachelle tabor are co-owners of Natural Wellness with locations in Cheyenne, Wyo. and Greeley, Colorado where they sell CBD oils and other products. Rachelle said she was skeptical at first, she said, “I thought that it was marijuana and so I wouldn’t get on it.”
After learning the differences between the hemp plant and the marijuana plant she decided to finally try it after recommendations from doctors. She said, “Then I kicked myself for not trying it for four months because I could have been feeling better, sooner.”
CBDis a non-psychoactive compound found in hemp which means it won’t get you high. Instead people use it to treat anything from seizures to anxiety. Both of the Tabors have seen health benefits from using CBD oils. David said, “We’ve seen the benefits its been bringing to people and we like it so we thought we’d bring it to Wyoming.”
Rachelle said, “It’s been very rewarding. Not just for me and for my husband because we have our life back again, but also for the people that have come into our store and we see them come back and they tell us their stories and that now they’re feeling good.”
Though the hemp plant is now a legal crop with the signing of the Farm Bill in December. There are still many questions to be answered as to regulation and its legality on a state level.
The FDA said in a statement shortly after the bill was signed that products claiming to have therapeutic effects still need to be approved by the agency.
There is current legislation has been introduced in the Wyoming State Legislature regarding the regulation of the hemp plant and other products in the state.
